THE COTSWOLDS APRIL 16 – 18

England’s second largest protected landscape, after the Lake District, and the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales. Quintessential England……..chocolate box pretty………gentle, undulating hills…..all the usual cliches, but also lush green valleys, and stunning plateaus and ‘edges’ – the Cotswolds can be a place of stirring drama and the best loved place to experience that is on the Edge, the limestone escarpment with its biblical views stretching across the Vales of the Severn, Berkeley and Gloucester, Forest of Dean, the jagged Malverns and the morose mountains of Wales. Perfect for Nordic walking!

THE ULLSWATER WAY MAY 14 – 16

This is a new 20 mile walking route that circumnavigates the stunning Ullswater through a spectacular landscape rich in history and cultural heritage.
We walk the full circuit of the lake over two days using a combination of steamer and taxi transport to return to our base at the very gorgeous Pooley Bridge. We then do a circular walk over to Askham and the historic Lowther Castle. If you haven’t visited the North Eastern part of the Lake District before this is a great trip to explore this really lovely quiet area.

NORTH YORKSHIRE JUNE 11 – 13

This is a new area for us to explore. The North York Moors National Park is 553 square miles of very varied terrain, comprising the largest continuous expanse of heather moorland in England. The moors are of no great height yet offer a wonderful sense of spaciousness, with extensive views under a ‘big sky’. There are also verdant dales, as well as a remarkable cliff coastline. The long distance Cleveland Way wraps itself around the moors and coast, but there are many other walks that explore the rich variety of the area, focusing on its charm, history, heritage and wildlife. The NYM can be divided into seven regions within the National Park. On this first trip we are going to explore the South Western corner – the Hambleton Hills and the Tabular Hills.
