Surprisingly, the November walks have been exceptional this year. The Tuesday walks have been brilliant. We started with Amanda’s birthday ‘afternoon tea lunch’ – the sandwiches were so varied and delicious and the cakes were scrumptious as always. I never cease to be amazed at the standard of catering that we can produce!
The High Legh walk was drizzly at the start but then we had glorious sunshine. The ‘new’ Knutsford/Ollerton walk didn’t work out, as whilst I was reccying some of the new footpaths I came across many cows, wobbly stiles and waterlogged gates so it was a ‘no go’. We did the usual Toft woods and Mobberley bridleways instead.
The Cranage & Goostrey walk was fab and as usual we were made very welcome at Woodside Golf Club. Last week was the excellent Dunham stomp which we did anti-clockwise so that we ended up at the Stables Cafe in Dunham for very nice scones!
The Wednesday Wellness walks have not been quite as dramatic this month. The score is: FOUND – One car key; LOST – Two hats. Was I glad that car key turned up! It was going to cost £250 for a replacement. The two hats were lost on different Wednesdays but by the same person!!!! No names!
