The August Adventure walks were great, apart from dodging the showers at Dunham, and then a very wet soggy Friday which saw Ian sitting in his car, really not expecting anyone to turn up, but Margaret arrived, as enthusiastic and raring to go as usual. However, it didn’t take Ian long to persuade her to cast off her waterproofs and go for coffee instead.
Speaking of coffee, I think you will probably be aware by now of the demise of our favourite Friday coffee shop, Deliboys. We are all very sad that Martin and Lizzie have left Knutsford, apparently to set up business in Bolton, and we wish them well. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m actually really missing their gorgeous toasted teacakes.
It has been suggested that once they have their new cafe up and running we should have a Friday outing to the Bolton area, do a walk and then pop in for lunch at their new place. I will keep you informed of potential dates.
Rudyard Lake & The Dane Valley Day Walk
Well this walk went down very well indeed. We had a great day, a lake, a river, a small ascent, a pub lunch, ice cream and a beer to finish – whats not to like?? Seriously it is a really good walk and if you have never been to Rudyard Lake its well worth a visit.
