This is a perfect Nordic walking day out. Cannock Chase is Britain’s smallest mainland Area of Outstanding Beauty, an idyllic setting laden with leisurely walks around the former Royal forest, which celebrates its 60th year as an AONB in 2018. It is known for its rolling hills, purple heather and miles of quiet woodland routes to explore.
Our walk is 12 miles of wonderful flat forest trails, canal towpaths and sections of the Heart of England Way and the Staffordshire Way. We start and finish at the National Trust Shugborough Hall Estate. Parking in the estate is free.
There will be a lunch stop at the half way point and then back to Shugborough at approx. 3.00pm for afternoon tea.
