‘Trust me, I’m a Doctor!’

Did you see the ‘Trust Me I’m A Doctor’ programme on BBC2 the other week? Two of the findings stood out for me.

One was that the recommendations for the amount of exercise that we should be doing was 150–180 mins per week and the optimum being 30 minutes of brisk walking every day!

The other study that was done was comparing exercising indoors versus outdoors. Guess which was the no-brainer answer? The physical and psychological benefits of exercising outdoors far outweighed the benefits of pounding away on a treadmill in a gym.
