Spring is already here with the lovely snowdrops and daffodils and the Good news is……………………………
As long as there are no adverse developments with Covid-19 and the government “road map” can be adhered to, we expect that as instructors we will be able to teach and lead group walks of up to 30 people from Monday 29 March 2021. However, this will not be fully confirmed by the government until Monday 22 March and, depending on what is said at that point, there could still be further details to be clarified.
This is based on the government guidelines which exempts COVID secure businesses from the ‘Rule of Six’ providing they are running professionally organised, OUTDOOR EXERCISE sessions with strict COVID 19 protocols in place to ensure that it is being conducted in a COVID 19 secure manner.
We have therefore planned our own “NCNW Routemap” which will get us back to having regular walks every week plus Tasters, Learn to and Technique refresher / enhancer sessions, and eventually regular monthly Middle Distance and Day walks. The schedule of walks starts from Monday 29 March, however please be aware that we may need to change or cancel those plans should there be any changes announced.
Until guidelines change we will need to be aware that when the walk is over we then adhere to the ‘Rule of Six’ whilst we are having coffee etc.
As a brief overview from 29th March the Monday Mxn Only, Tuesday Adventure Walks and Friday Fitness walks will be back on.
From 14th April the Wednesday Wellness walks will restart. Please note we are going to trial a new meeting point for these walks. It will be at the big layby off Mobberley Road, near Travis Perkins -WA16 8EU.
From 17th May there will be fortnightly Middle Distance walks. (MDW) These will vary between Wednesdays and Thursdays to give everyone a chance to get to do some of them. The aim of these lovely 8/9 mile walks is to increase the distance walked if you have been used to the 6 mile adventure walks and want to build up to the 12 mile day walks. The venues for these are Kelsall & Delamere, Macclesfield Forest, Lyme Park, The Roaches, Alderley Edge / Mottram and Whitegate.
From 21st June, fingers crossed, we should be totally free from restrictions so the Day Walks will restart. These take us further afield so work better if we can car share and also, as we often stay for a meal after the walk, it will be more straightforward to book pub meals.
If you have any friends who are interested in having a go at Nordic walking we will be offering TASTER sessions at Tatton Park on Thursday 15th April at 10.30am and Wednesday 21st April at 1.30pm.
