Hathersage Day Walk, April 2016

What a great day we had on Sunday’s Peak District Day Walk. The day started with a sunny breakfast stop at a lovely Deli in Hathersage. This fuelled us ready for the gradual ascent onto Stannage Edge. Here we had a few light hailstones and fortunately the wind was behind us as we walked the length of Edge.

We then trekked across the moor to Burbage Rocks where there is 2 miles of perfect Nordic Walking path. The next section of the walk took us through Longshaw Estate where we had afternoon tea pit stop. The remainder of the day then consisted of a beautiful wooded gorge followed by 3 miles of riverside walking back to the start point for après walk beer.

We were very lucky, the rain held off all day!
